Great cover made by a prolific graphic designer and poster artist Mikhail Dlugach. Known for his work as a film poster designer, produced a great amount of film posters for both Soviet and foreign productions, employing many talented young artists. Book written by Claude McKay, was a seminal figure in the Harlem Renaissance - intellectual, social, and artistic explosion centered in Harlem, New York. Printed by "ZIF" in 1929, 5000 copies. Poor condition, rebound with original cover pasted onto, loss on the spine of the the book and on the corners on the cover. Aging and stains on both sides of the cover and inside covers. Loss of paper on the top edge of the inside cover. Cancelled library stamps and pencil handwriting of the last two pages. Most pages has minor stains, several has tears on the top edge. 240 pages.
