German language edition of USSR in Construction, issue #2, dated 1933, designed by El Lissitzky. USSR in Construction was a monthly constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. The issue is dedicated to the 15 year anniversary of the Red Army. A fold-out page has a timeline marking 1917 - 1933; photos of men representing different roles in the army are captioned with descriptions of their job. A great photomontage shows images of soldiers completing various tasks and activities, superimposed over a photo of barracks. Other sections focus on parachutists, warships, and military parades. Very good condition, creasing.
