English language version of issue #7 of USSR in Construction - SSSR Na Stroika, dated 1932. USSR in Construction was a monthly constructivist publication dedicated to construction projects and industry in the USSR, published in Russian, French, English, and German 1930 to 1941 as a collaboration between some of the most esteemed Soviet artists of the time. This issue is devoted to Krammashstroi and Uralmashstroi, heavy machinery plants in Krammatorsk and Ural. Photos show the mechanisation of the production process - the accompanying text compares the spacious and light modern plants to the hot and dangerous forge-shops of the past. The issue also includes portraits of those involved in building the works, with photos of the construction, factory schools and factory accomodation, and workers relaxing and playing sport in their free time. Poor condition, damage to the spine, paper losses along the spine on the cover, tears on cover, creasing.
