The book is devoted to the Soviet aircraft industry and the achievements of the Soviet airmen. The essay by M. Vodopyanov is intermingled with photographs of airmen and planes during the expeditions undertaken to the North Pole and elsewhere. The cover's design belongs to H. Klering.
