"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography, history, world culture, published since 1861. Constructivist cover by N Ushin, Soviet graphic artist, theatre designer and book illustrator. Ushin illustrated the Russian translation of One Thousand and One Nights published in eight volumes by Academia. His illustrations for One Thousand and One Nights were awarded a gold medal at the 1937 Paris Exposition. Ushin also made lithographs and bookplates. His works are kept in several Saint Petersburg museums. This issue was also illustrated by B Antonovsky for the article "Friends Conspiracy", S Verhovsky, f0r the story "Greyhound", A Lubimov for the story "Four-legged enemies", G Fitingov for the story "Kabul on fire". Published by "Krasnaya Gazeta", 1929. Fair condition. Frayed spine, rubbings, staining. Pencil handwriting on the back cover. 24 pages.
