"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography, history, world culture, published since 1861. Cover illustration by S Verhovsky for the story "From the depths of the universe". List of this issue's artwork included illustrations for the story "Golden train" by I Korolev, "Captain Shellise's reef" by G Fitingof and illustrations for the story "Destruction" by A Lubimov , Russian Soviet realist painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and art teacher, professor of Repin Institute of Arts and Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Industry, who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists and regarded as one of founder and the brightest representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his portrait paintings and satirical drawings. Published by "Krasnaya Gazeta", 1929. Fair condition of the cover, loss of material and tears on the spine and margins, pencil handwriting on the back cover, rubbings. Pages are in a good condition. 24 pages.
