"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography, history, world culture, published since 1861. Cover illustration by N Ushin, Soviet graphic artist, theatre designer and book illustrator. Ushin illustrated the Russian translation of One Thousand and One Nights published in eight volumes by Academia. His illustrations for One Thousand and One Nights were awarded a gold medal at the 1937 Paris Exposition. Ushin also made lithographs and bookplates. His works are kept in several Saint Petersburg museums. List of this issue's artwork included illustrations by A Lubimov for the stories "Revolt on the "Saint Ann", Langvorth for the story "Sailors of the "Lucky Star", N Kochergin for the "Competitors". Published by "Krasnaya Gazeta", 1929. Good condition, minor tears on the spine and margins, rubbings. Pencil handwriting on the back cover, 24 pages.
