The Red Army of Workers and Peasants

This richly illustrated album was dedicated to the anniversary of the Red Army. Composed without text, the issue meant by the creators as a movie book and to be read without words. Designed by El Lissitzky. In preparation of this album, Lissitzky used photographs and photomontages by G Zelmanovich, D Debabov, A Skurikhin, A Shaihet, A Polyakov and others. Published by IZOGIZ, 1934. Rare first edition. 184 pages and a fold-out poster. With black and white photographs and colour illustrations throughout. Good condition. Rubbings and soiling on the hardcover, spine reinforced with the clear tape. Tears on the flyleaf. Tears on pages 1-10 reinforced with the clear tape. Pages are in good condition, minor rubbings.
