Cover and full page colour illustrations by the notable Russian artist Ivan Bilibin (1876-1942): "Dmitry Donskoy's victory at Kulikovo", "Ivan the Terrible playing chess", "Stepka Razin on the banks of Volga", "Streltzy uprising in 1682". Printed on thick stock paper, hard cover, 160 pages, first edition, printed in Paris, France by Fernand Nathan in 1936. Good condition, stain on the front cover, bumps on the corners and spine, small stain on the back cover.
