This very rare, antique book is a First Edition, one of the 50 copies created. This is a political book on Lenin that was published by State Publishing House of Political Literature of Soviet Union. It was presented as a gift from the Soviet Union to political leaders at the 1939 World's Fair. Design of the book by S Telingater. This book is filled with many full colour, hand-tipped photographs, documents, manuscripts, letters, notes. Contains tipped-in illustrations by N Andreyev, P Alyakrinsky, A Tyutikov, A Kutateladze, I Vepkhvadze, etc. Published by OGIZ in 1939 in the run-up to WWII. The poor condition of the cover. Prominent rubbings causing loss of colour on the front and back cover. Loss of material on spine, tears. Frayed corners. Pages are in good condition.
