Original vintage magazine Das Plakat. Magazine of the Association of Poster Friends E.V. for art in advertising. / Zeitschrift des Vereins der Plakatfreunde E. V. für Kunst in der Reklame, July 1919, 10th Year, Vol. 4. Das Plakat was a magazine published at the beginning of the 20th century with the particular aim of promoting the contemporary artistic design of posters and advertising graphics. The magazine was published from 1910, initially under the title Mitteilungen des Vereins der Plakatfreunde (VDP) and was published by the association's co-founder and poster collector Hans Sachs in Berlin-Nikolassee on behalf of the VDP. The cover features decorative ornament with flowers and leaves and black and white lettering with a gothic font. The volume includes posters of various advertisements with descriptions and articles about posters design ideas, philosophy, fonts, packaging, there is an article about Belgian posters. There are individual inserts with small posters on thinner paper. Paperback, 309 pages. Poor condition, book spine is missing, page corners are falling apart, a few pages have fallen out, minor stain on the cover, light browning.
