Original reference Dmitry Bulanov: There was Such a Designer in Leningrad by Vladimir Krichevsky with contribution by a historian Sergey Larkov in Russian with English introduction. The book is dedicated to the life and work of graphic designer Dmitry Bulanov (1898-1942). Though his poster series for Leningrad Zoo is world-famous, the artist's name and the dates of his life remain unknown. The author researched through archive documents and materials from different collections to compose the publication. The book covers the following topics: Introduction, analysis of Bulanov's primitive art, children's books and posters, the documentation of Soviet politics, culture, economics, and everyday life in the artist's works. Published by Kulturnaja revoljucija, Moscow, 119 pages. Very good condition, minor stain and paper skimming.
