Original antique brochure titled Russland / Russia, showing the members of the Imperial Army, including an officer of Pawlograd's Hussar Regiment, a hussar officer of the Isum Hussar Regiment, and a dragoon of the Livonian Dragoon Regiment. The text below in German translates as - 1807 The Russian uniforms of that period are of great interest to us in that they served as models for the new uniforms of the Prussian Army in 1808. In the library of the Great General Staff in Berlin, there are two collections of hand drawings of Russian troops, gifts from the Russian Emperor to Frederick William III, which the latter used when designing the Prussian uniforms, according to a handwritten note. A table with Russian infantry uniforms, which we will show later, should make the similarity even clearer. The Hussar officer's czak shows a double-headed eagle on each side, to which the chains are attached - a form that was also adopted for the Prussian Army, replacing the Russian eagle with the Prussian eagle. The dragoons wore a leather helmet with a horsehair crest. The same headgear was required by the Russian Cuirassiers and was also introduced for the same weapon in the Prussian army, while the dragoons here received the Czako.
