Original vintage constructivist magazine Ekran, issue number 23, June 1929. The ‘working newspaper’. Weekly magazine on recent developments in the USSR and abroad. The cover features a photograph of the swimming All-Union record holder Messer in the women's short-distance swim by P. Grohovsky. The issue includes photographs of different events that happened in the past week, such as the visit of Maxim Gorky to Moscow, the opening of the House of Workers' Education at a factory in Leningrad, the opening of a monument to the playwright Ostrovsky in Moscow, the arrival of the Afghan padishah in India after the city of Veliky Ustyug; the poem Landscape by Ivan Doronin; a story The Saber of Komsomolets with drawings by P. Belyanin; the rebellion of Feng Yuxiang, a warlord and a leader of the Republic of China from Chaohu, Anhui. He served as Vice Premier of the Republic of China from 1928 to 1930; kindergartens with photographs by P. Petrokas and other articles with photographs and drawings by S Korshunov, V Shtranikh, A Chernomordik and Averin. Published by Glavlit, 15 pages. Good condition, browning, stain, creasing.
