Special issue of the Pravda newspaper introduces the reader to the polar expedition on the "Cheliuskin" ship that took place in 1933-1934. The main goal of the expedition was to determine the suitability of the Northern Sea Route for transport shipping. Ship crashed and sank, crew had to evacuate and spent two month on an ice floe in polar winter before they got saved. Issue was illustrated by F. Reshetnikov, Soviet painter and graphic artist. One of the main representatives of socialist realism. He was recognised by the government for his work and was a member for three and a half decades of the Soviet Academy of Arts. S. Senkin, twentieth-century Russian artist. He used a variety of artistic techniques such as graphic and poster design, photography and photomontage as well as painting. V. Deni, Russian satirist, cartoonist and poster artist. V. Deni was one of the major agitprop poster artists of the Bolshevist period. Contains many pictures and illustrations, including maps.
