These combined two volumes provide a detailed history of Russia, from the rule of Catherine the Second in 1762 tothe assassination of the emperor, Tsar Alexander II in 1881. It includes over 50 illustrations. Alfred Nicolas Rambaud (1842-1905) was a French historian; he was recognised as an expert on the Byzantine period and Russian history.

Good condition, minor wear on spine, minor staining.
