Dated 20 August, 1929, this is the fifteenth-sixteenth volume of the magazine for politics, culture, criticism and bibliography, titled "Kniga I Revolutsiya" ["Book and the revolution"]. Released in 5000 copies, this bi-weekly publication celebrates the literature of the Soviet Union, reviews newly-published books, and overviews the state of the Soviet publishing industry. The articles in this issue touch on Chekhov, the contemporaneous literature of Germany, Osip Mandelshtam, and the art of socialist realism, among others. Photos by A. Rodchenko are to be found on both sides of the front cover; the design is by Varvara Stepanova. Fair condition, tears on the edges, paper faded, some light stains, stamps on the front cover and the opening page, some pencil notes, delicate cuts on the spine, the core separated from the spine (unglued). 96 pages.
