"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography, history, world culture, published since 1861. Cover illustration by N Kochergin, Russian (Soviet) avant-garde painter, graphic artist, and sculptor mainly active in Leningrad. Born near Moscow, Kochergin studied at the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry in 1908-1918. List of this issue's artwork included illustrations by G Fitingof for the story "A Man Who Lost His Face", F Railyan for the story "More Expensive Than Gold", I Korolev for the story "The Victory of the Will". Published by "Krasnaya Gazeta", 1929. Fair condition. Frayed cover and pages. Loss of material and tears on the spine and margins, pencil handwriting on the back cover, rubbings, water staining. 24 pages.
