Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 13, 25th March 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. Cover illustration by Stenberg brothers. Vladimir Stenberg and Georgii Stenberg were Soviet artists and designers. The Stenbergs practised in a range of media, initially active as Constructivist sculptors, subsequently as theatre designers, architects, and craftspeople. Their design work covered the gamut from clothing, including women's shoes, to rail carriages. The serendipitous success of the Stenbergs' radical approach had been facilitated by several factors: their talent as graphic designers and their knowledge of film theory, Constructivism, Malevich's Suprematism, and the avant-garde theatre. List of this issue's artwork included illustrations by artists such as V Deni, Kukriniksa, I Repin. Fair condition. Frayed spine, rubbings, staining. Loss of material on edges. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK", 1928.
