Monthly magazine focusing on current affairs in the Soviet Union produced by F.S.U. (previously F.S.R.) an organisation formed on the initiative of the Communist International in 1927, with the purpose of coordinating solidarity efforts with the Soviet Union around the world. Constructivist cover. Illustrations by Fred Ellis, John Gilmore and Jacob Burck. Jacob Burck was a Polish-born Jewish-American painter, sculptor, and award-winning editorial cartoonist. Active in the Communist movement from 1926 as a political cartoonist and muralist. Burck drew political cartoons for two large mainstream dailies, the St. Louis Post Dispatch and then, for 44 years, the Chicago Daily Times (later as the Chicago Sun-Times). Burck was awarded the 1941 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning. This issue's articles include "Without Diplomacy" by Ilya Ehrenbourg, "This Month in Moscow" by Anna Louise Strong, "Socialism and Individual" by Myra Page, "With Greater Power - Forward" by Bonchi Friedman. Published by F.S.U. Publications, inc. N.Y. Good condition. Rubbings along the spine. Pencil markings on the front page. Water stain on the back cover causing loss of material.
