Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #22 1928

Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. Still from the movie "Asya" on the front cover. Illustrations by E Mordmilllovich for the article "Traveler Notes in the USSR" and M Getmansky for the story "What Happened to Duglas Kinohin". Getmansky was a graphic artist and illustrator, originally from Taganrog. He designed book covers for publishers such as Krug, Detgiz and Gosizdat. He also produced illustrations for numerous publications, namely magazines (Krasnaya Niva and Ogonek), children’s books and travel guides (such as Soviet Travel). In 1936 Intourist issued a new Soviet Union tour guide aimed at foreign tourists and businessmen. The guide contained many illustrations by Getmansky, as well as ethnographic maps designed in his characteristic style, showing Central Asia, the Caucasus, Georgia and Armenia. Good condition.
