Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #34 1927
Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. Picture of the actor Richard Kirtets on the front cover. List of artwork includes illustrations by Ya Rivosh for the article "What We Forget" and Yu Pimenov fo the story "A Ray of Light". Yuriy Pimenov was a Soviet stage designer, graphic artist, teacher, professor. Academician of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1962),People’s Artist of the USSR (1970),the winner of the Lenin Prize (1967) and two Stalin Prize of the second degree (1947,1950). In the early period Pimenov experienced a great influence of German expressionism, which largely explains the hysterically-dramatic poignancy of his best paintings of these years: “Invalids of War” (1926,Russian Museum),“Give us the heavy industry” (1927); “The soldiers are moving to the side of the revolution” (1932,both – in the Tretyakov Gallery). Over the years,he moved to the updated impressionism, confessing creative principle “beautiful moments”,light and artistic image-impressions. Poor condition, rubbings and creases on the edges. Loss of material on page 7 and on the back cover.

FAQs
More information about our posters and service.
Are your posters originals?
All antique and vintage posters listed on our website are guaranteed originals as detailed in their photographs and descriptions, and include a certificate of authenticity.
What is a lithograph?
Most of the posters found on our website are lithographs. This is a method of printing that involves drawing a reverse image of each colour onto a piece of stone. The poster sheet is then imprinted consecutively with a stone slab for each colour, creating a stunning and rich image.
With the exception of silk printing, I believe that other printing techniques do not deliver the same impact of colour as lithography.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship posters worldwide rolled in shock-resistant and hard wearing tubes. Unless specified otherwise, delivery is free within the UK and standard international delivery is £35 for orders placed via our website.

Our opening hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm; Saturday 11am-5pm (by appointment only on Sundays and bank holidays*).
