"Around the World" the oldest Russian and Soviet magazine focusing on popular science and geography, history, world culture, published since 1861. Frontcover illustration by B Nechaev. List of this issue's artwork includes illustrations by N Kochergin for the story "Desert Rumble" and article "Legends of the Sea", G Fitingof for the story "Double Escape", B Nechaev for the story "Defeated Burkhan" and A Lubimov for the story "Krambambuly". Lubimov was a Soviet realist painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and art teacher, professor of Repin Institute of Arts and Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Industry, who lived and worked in Leningrad. He was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists and regarded as one of founder and the brightest representatives of the Leningrad school of painting, most famous for his portrait paintings and satirical drawings. Published by "Krasnaya Gazeta", 1930. Poor condition of the cover. Frayed spine. Rubbings, loss of material on margins. Pages are in good condition. Pencil handwriting on the back cover. 24 pages.
