Constructivist magazine Ekran, issue number 48, 1927. The ‘working newspaper’. Weekly magazine on recent developments in the USSR and abroad. A photograph of Clara Schetkin - Cavalier of the Order of the Red Banner - by M Alpert on the front cover. Illustrations for the story "Bayonet Fight" by Cheremnyh, photos by M Alpert for the article "Circus and Safety Regulations", illustrations for the poem "Assault on the Masses" by K Rotov. Konstantin Rotov was a Soviet graphic artist. He attended the Rostov School of Art, worked for magazines and newspapers, such as "Krokogyl" and "Pravda". His illustrations (mainly of children’s books) and cartoons about daily life are noted for their comic situations. They are narrative and have a multitude of amusing details; the precisely outlined drawings are in two or three local colors. Fair condition, rubbings and staining. Rusty staples. Frayed spine, creases on the margins. 16 pages.
