Issue № 10, 1941 of "Ogonek", Soviet sociopolitical and literary-artistic illustrated weekly magazine, one of the oldest in Soviet history. Edited by Mikhail Koltsov, Soviet Journalist, Bolshevik Revolutionary and an NKVD Agent, Koltsov founded popular magazines such as "Krokodil", "Chudak", "Sovetskoe Foto" and "Ogonek". Frontcover illustration by A Tolokonnikov. This issue's artwork includes illustrations by L Brodata for the story "Pages of the Past", A Shults for the story "Record", photo of V Mayakovsky by P Otsup, B Prorokov for the article "Balls and Mimosas", illustrations by B Efimov for the story "Custom Boots". Efimov was a Soviet political cartoonist best known for his critical political caricatures of Adolf Hitler and other Nazis produced before and during the Second World War, and was the chief illustrator of the newspaper "Izvestia". Published by the publishing house "Pravda". Good condition, some rubbings and staining. 23 pages.
