Issue № 12 of "Ogonek", Soviet sociopolitical and literary-artistic illustrated weekly magazine, one of the oldest in Soviet history. Edited by Mikhail Koltsov, Soviet Journalist, Bolshevik Revolutionary and an NKVD Agent, Koltsov founded popular magazines such as "Krokodil", "Chudak", "Sovetskoe Foto" and "Ogonek". Frontcover photo was taken by Otto Shmidt and depicts a portrait of G Zinoviev, a Permanent Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Communist International. This issue's articles include "In the House of the Comintern" written by M Tarlovsky, "Diary of Nicolay the Second" by I Poltavsky, "Old Man" by A Tersky. Photos taken by O Schmidt were accompanying articles throughout the magazines. Otto Yulyevich Shmidt was a Soviet scientist, mathematician, astronomer, geophysicist, statesman, academician, Hero of the USSR (27 June 1937), and member of the Communist Party. Published by the publishing house "Mospoligraph". Poor condition. Frayed spine, loss of material on margins, prominent staining and rubbings. Pencil remarks on the front cover.
