"Red Army and Red Navy Soldier" magazine was a literary and art magazine of the Red Army. At the end of the WWII, the magazine was awarded the Order of the Red Star by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1944. Front cover illustration entitled "Coal Loading" by V Efanov. Vasily Efanov was a Soviet painter and People's Painter of the USSR (1965). He was awarded the Stalin Prize in 1950. This issue's artwork includes illustrations for the article entitled "Emergency landing" by V Efanov, photograph by A Prohorov for the article "Night Attack", photographs by Latishev for the article "The Death of Dergunov", photograph by Kukashevich for the article entitled "Radio Operator Mikotin", photograph by P Ivanov for the article "Mine Hunters".
