Promotional pamphlet for a movie "New Babylon". “New Babylon” is a black and white film by Grigory Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg in 1929. The movie was a masterpiece of the Soviet avant-garde. The premiere took place on March 18, 1929. The film had a huge success in the USSR and abroad. In “Essays on the History of Cinema of the USSR” N. A. Lebedev wrote that the film “New Babylon” is “a genuine festival of impressionism in the cinema”, that Moskvin and Mikhailov brilliantly imitate the visual techniques of Mane, Degas, Renoir. Front cover design made by N Ushin. Good condition, slight rubbings, creases on margins. Published by Teakinopechat, 40 000 copies. 31 pages.
