This pocket-size edition is part of the English-language series published by the Foreign Languages Publishing House in Moscow, which aims at edification of the foreign, particularly American readers, about all the aspects of the Soviet reality. The present book is devoted to the museums of the Soviet Union. The essay by O. Leonova is intermingled with shots from different museums around the country: the Hermitage, the Tretyakov State Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Tchaikovsky Museum. The text touches on those, already for long existent museums, but puts emphasis on the institutions that emerged under the Soviet rule. Excellent condition, the item fully preserved, light stain on the front cover, a light stamp on the back of the back cover. 32 pages.
