Soviet magazine New Spectator, issue number 52, 1926. A theatre, film, stage and circus magazine, first published in Moscow. It contains reviews of what's on in the theatres and cinemas of Moscow. Great constructivist photo-montage cover, with costume designs by the notable Soviet designers, the Stenberg Brothers (Vladimir 1899-1982; Georgii 1900-1933), for a play "Night and Day" staged at Kamerny Theatre by Alexander Tairov (1885-1950). Stenberg Brothers were Soviet artists and designers. Initially, they worked as Constructivist sculptors, later as theatrical designers, architects, draftsmen and graphic designers Illustrated with photos and sketches of film and theatre stars and stage designs. Film poster design by Konstantin Vyalov (1900-1976) for a movie by the pioneering Soviet filmmaker and director, Dziga Vertov (David/Denis Kaufman; 1896-1954), "Sixth Continent" in text. Good condition, minor bumps on corners, two small tears on margins of the back cover, discolouration. 32 pages.
