Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 14, 1st April 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. A painting by I Chashnikov of ‘Partisans in Siberia’ on the front cover, various advertisements on the back cover. This edition includes a story ‘Grave Memorials’ by B Pilnyak, and a double spread feature on M N Yermolova, while another article is entitled ‘The Eyes of America’. List of some artwork inside: a portrait of D Furmanov by S V Malyutin; a painting ‘The Death of a Commissar’ by K Petrov-Vodkin; another painting ‘Ferrangian partisans’; cartoon of the writer M Zoshenko. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, magazine has been cropped on the bottom edge, description at bottom of front cover partially obscured. 20 pages.
