Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 15, 10th April 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A painting of a peasant woman by V I Surikov on the front cover entitled ‘Townswoman’. Advertisements for the newspaper Izvestia and the magazines Red Field’ and New World on the back cover designed by I Bograd. This edition includes a collection of verse, with poems entitled ‘Stop’ and ‘The First Sowing’, stories ‘Water in the Fire’ by S Grigory and article ‘Lenin’s Baron’. List of some artwork inside: ‘Winter Gutter’ by A N Benya; illustrations by K Kuznetsov to accompany the story ‘Water in the Fire’; a painting ‘In Chinese Blood’ by V Deni. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume. 23 pages.
