Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 19, 8th May 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A colourful painting on the front cover depicting ‘A Woman with Fruit’ by P Golen, on the back cover a painting by P Konchalovsky ‘On the Volkhov’. This edition includes a story entitled ‘Neck and Graph’ and ‘In the Throat’ and a feature on ‘The Treachery of Chiang-Kai-Shek’ the erstwhile leader of the republic of China. Another article focuses on socialism in China. List of some artwork inside: a photograph of the statue of Pushkin by B Domogantsky; a painting of cows entitled ‘Herd’ by N Kupreyanov; a cartoon of the poet Peter Oreshin by N I Gatinlov. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, front and back covers detached, some pages loose. 24 pages.
