Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 23, 5th June 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A portrait of Pushkin by V A Tropina on the front cover, another painting by A E Kravchenko of a mother and child entitled ‘Mother’ on the back cover. This edition includes stories ‘The Tools of Production’ by B Pilnyak and ‘Spring Happening’ by M Sivachev. There are also features on socialism in China and a long article on Pushkin’s childhood years. List of some artwork inside: a photograph by N Petrov; illustrations accompanying the story ‘The Tools of Production’; a painting ‘Black Sea Port’ by B Kryukov; illustrations accompanying the article on Pushkin. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, front and back covers detached. 24 pages.
