Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 24, 12th July 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A painting by V Svarog entitled ‘Spring in Leningrad’ on the front cover. A painting by N Gatilov ‘In China’ on the back cover. This edition includes the stories ‘Swell’ by I Sokolov-Mikitov and ‘Bell’ by A Lipetsky. It also includes a poem by E Bagritsky and a feature on news updates in the USSR. List of some artwork includes: a photograph of a peasant woman and her children by N Petrov; illustrations by K Rotov to accompany the article ‘Swell’; a painting by O Dome depicting ‘A Scene from the Great French Revolution’; a cartoon on rising food retail prices by Y Ganf; full page political cartoon by V Deni. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, bottom edge trimmed. 24 pages.
