Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 25, 19th June 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A painting entitled ‘In the Field’ by Z Serebryakov on the front cover, another painting ‘Boy Bathers’ on the back cover. Inside are features on the ‘Protests of the Moscow Proletariat’ and stories ‘The Flute’ by Mikhail Prishvin and ‘Wagon Night’ by Dimitri Sverchkov. There is also an extended feature on the Soviet Russian writer Sergei Grigoriev. List of some artwork inside: a photograph of Petr Voikov; a caricature cartoon of Neville Chamberlain as the face of Conservative England by E Mandelberg; illustrations by Mikhail Prishvin for the story ‘The Flute’; one page drawing At the Sparrow Hills in Moscow before holidays by N Gatilov. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, front and back covers detached. 22 pages.
