Red Field Krasnaya Niva #26 1928

Soviet weekly magazine Red Field, issue №26, 24 June 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Constructivist cover has original painting made specially for Red Niva by P. Shukhmin, Soviet painter, graphic artist, poster artist, teacher. Author of genre works on a historical and revolutionary theme, portraitist. This issue contains chapter "Unknown comrade" from the novel "Aline and dead" written by V. Andreev, article "Help to Nobile", story "Watercolour" by A. Grin, Russian prose writer and poet, representative of neo-romanticism, author of philosophical works with elements of symbolic fiction; "Landscape of Cimmeria" with work of K. Bogaevsky, Russian painter notable for his Symbolist landscapes, attributed to the Cimmerian school; article "Need work tourism" by I. Rakitin, excerpt "Children of Africa" from book "Around the world" by Peretz Hirschbein, Yiddish-language playwright, novelist, journalist, travel writer, and theatre director. Illustrated by various artists such as S. Magaziner, A. Sherbakov, K. Bogaevsky, N. Petrov, R. Shlikhter, B. Antonovsky, G. Klich, L. Brodaty, G. Roze and K. Rotov, Soviet graphic artist, cartoonist, book illustrator. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK", 110 000 copies. Poor condition, cover and pages are detached. Staples are missing. Was part of bound yearly volume. Tears and loss of material on the spine. Minor dusting, rubbings and staining. Pencil handwriting on the last page. Small cancelled library stamp on the back cover.
