Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 3, 15th January 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Biweekly magazine. A painting ‘Working for Tomorrow’ on the front cover, various advertisements on the back cover. This edition includes the story ‘Priests’ by Petr Oreshin, and a long feature on marine warcraft entitled ‘What they are planning for Peace’. There is also a feature on the famous Soviet writer M Gorky, accompanied by a portrait of him at work. Another article is entitled ‘Beams of Life’. List of some artwork inside includes a photograph of the statue ‘October’ by A Matveeva; a photograph of a Moscow street by N Petrov; a photograph of Maxim Gorky, artist uncredited. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, front and back covers detached. 24 pages.
