Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 31, 31st July 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. A painting by R Friends of three mounted Red Army soldiers on the front cover entitled 'Barrier'. A painting by V Van Gogh entitled 'Prisoner's Walk' on the back cover. This edition includes the illustrated short stories 'Happiness' by V Ivanov and 'Bream' by A Aleshin. It also features the articles 'Day of the English Miner' and 'Day of the Constitution and Defence of Moscow'. List of some artwork inside: a painting by Rudolf Hermann 'The End of the Fighting'; illustrations to accompany the story 'Happiness' by R Usova; a painting 'Aeroplane in the Ocean' by V Starog, two page spread on Soviet Constructivist architecture exhiition with black and white photos. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume, cropped on the top edge. 24 pages.
