Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 34, 19th August 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. The fron cover features a painting Finish by I Dubasov of a runner on the front cover, the number '34' emblazoned on his chest. An advertisement for 'Sovkino' the Soviet state production company on the back cover. This special sports edition includes the illustrated article 'Across the Green Winter' and 'Rubber War' by D Sokolov. There is also a poetry section including poems 'Remains' and 'Mowing'. List of some artwork inside: illustrations by K Yeliseeva to accompany the article 'Across Green Winter'; a photograph entitled 'The Festival of Sport'; various paintings for the section 'Sport in Art', including 'Football' by A Deyneka and a drawing by Y Pimenov. Full page drawing by A Deyneka Sportsmen on the front page. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume. 24 pages.
