Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 39, 25th September 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. A portrait of T Elifav on the front cover by Sharleman, another painting, a landscape entitled 'Winter Wind (on the Volga)' by I Letitan on the back cover. Inside this edition are the illustrated short stories 'Knives' by I Sokolov-Mikitov and 'Tel-Hai' by L Newman. There is also a feature entitled 'Around Japanese Towns' and another on the famous French writer Emile Zola. List of artwork inside: an etching entitled 'Peasants'; illustrations by I Mazel to accompany the short story 'Knives'; a drawing 'Building Season is Over' by V Kolenda. Good condition, spine slightly frayed and pages inside loose,a faint stamp mark on the back cover, magazine was bound and removed from bounding. 24 pages.
