Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 4, 22nd January 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. A black and white photograph of Lenin on the front cover, promotions for Lenin inspired societies on the back cover. This edition is dedicated to Lenin and includes articles ‘Studying the Brain of Lenin’ which contains photographs of Lenin’s brain being dissected. It also features a collection of verse, with poems ‘With a coffin’ by A Hutoryanin and ‘In the Mausoleum’ by S Alimov. List of artwork includes: a photograph of a relief depicting the October Revolution; various photogrpahs and images of Lenin; illustrations by Y Pimenov to accompany Malashkin’s story; a painting of Lenin’s Mausoleum by J Granjuen; a painting of the 9th of January 1905 by I Vladimirov. Fair condition, cuts and wear along the spine, faint stamp mark on the back cover, unbound copy from a yearly subsciption volume.
