Soviet Magazine Red Field, issue number 40, 2nd October 1927. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Weekly magazine. A painting of Leo Tolstoy, the celebrated Russian writer by I Repin on the front cover, another painting by Renoir on the back cover, entitled 'Parisian Girls'. This edition includes the short story 'Father' by L Pasinkov, a poem 'Wind' by I Vasilchenko, and another short story 'Wood-Grouse' by P Suhotin and a collection of verse from Sergei Klichkov. There is also a short article on new architectural ideas in the West showing Art Deco and Bauhaus building designs and interiors. One page article on tatooes with some photos. List of some artwork inside: illustrations by Y Chebotarev to accompany the short story 'Father'. Fair condition spine frayed and inside pages loose, a faint stamp mark on the back cover. 23 pages.
