Soviet weekly magazine Red Field, issue №41, 7 October 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Constructivist cover has original painting done by R. Frentz, Soviet and Russian painter, watercolorist, graphic artist, illustrator, and art teacher, created specially for Red Niva. This edition includes story "Shkap" by Gleb Alekseev, Russian Soviet writer; unpublished story "Cactus" by O. Henry, American writer, recognised master of the short story; article "Kiev manoeuvre" by A. Rakitnik, "Learn foreign languages" by N. Kalm, "Workers art" by E. Gollerbakh, Russian art critic, art and literary critic, bibliographer and bibliophile. Illustrated by K. Petrov-Vodkin, important Russian and Soviet painter and writer; G Vereisky, Soviet graphic artist and painter; Dmitry Kardovsky, Russian Soviet artist, illustrator and stage designer. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK", 110 000 copies. Poor condition, cover and pages are detached. Staples are missing. Was part of bound yearly volume. Tears and loss of material on the spine and on margins. Dusting, rubbings and staining.
