Soviet weekly magazine Red Field, issue №41, 7 October 1928. First published in 1922 by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Painting "Hadji Murat" by E. Lanceray, on the front cover, and painting from cycle "Female labour" by A. Kravchenko on inside cover. This edition includes story "Father's fury" by A. Grin, Russian prose writer and poet, representative of neo-romanticism; poem "Theft" by D. Semenovsky; essay "Italy by car" by O. Forsh; story "Woman" by Henri Barbusse, French writer, journalist and public figure; article "Exhibition of contemporary French art", "Literary meetings", "Wives of alcoholics". This issue is illustrated by various artists, such as W Gropper, U.S. cartoonist, painter, lithographer, and muralist. A committed radical, Gropper is best known for the political work which he contributed to left wing publications, as well as K. Eliseev, Russian Soviet graphic artist and theatre and film artist; Deni, Russian satirist, cartoonist and poster artist; N. Kupreyanov, Soviet graphic artist. Published by "Izvestij TSIK USSR and VTSIK", 110 000 copies. Poor condition, cover and pages are detached. Staples are missing. Was part of bound yearly volume. Tears and loss of material on the spine and on margins. Dusting, rubbings and staining. Pencil handwriting on the last page. 24 pages.
