Original vintage Soviet constructivist magazine Science and Technology Nauka i Tehnika #20-21 April 1931. Nauka i Tehnika was a monthly magazine on scientific and technical breakthroughs in the USSR. The cover features a drawing of arc welding, which was first developed when Russian inventor Nikolai Benardos presented arc welding of metals using a carbon electrode at the International Exposition of Electricity, Paris in 1881. The issue includes articles about prospects for the oil industry; Soviet magnesium; tidal power stations, tin babbitt; the largest airship in the world, built in the USA; new inventions in aviation; factory welding in boiler repairs; a giant pressure gauge; the effect of weather on radio reception; a mobile mercury-rectifier plant and others, accompanied by illustrations and schemes.
