Original vintage Soviet magazine Soviet Architecture / Sovetskaya Arkhitektura #1-2 1931 in Russian, issued with a frequency of 1 issue in 2 months by the State Scientific and Technical Publishing House in the period from 1931 to 1934 (a total of 15 issues of the magazine were published, including double ones). The cover and design is by Varvara Stepanova (1894-1958), a Russian Constructivist and Avant-Garde artist. The magazine includes articles about housing and public utility construction in the USSR, Bauhaus exhibition in Moscow, hydrometeorological research in planning cities, development of Chardzhuy (Türkmenabat), Turkmenistan, working methods of ASNOVA (Association of New Architects - an Avant-Garde architectural association in USSR), VOPRA (All-union association of proletarian architects); SASS (Sector of architects of social construction), competition project for the opera house in Kharkov, and others, illustrated with plans and schemes.
