Constructivist film magazine Soviet Movie Screen, issue number 4, 22nd January 1927. Printed in Moscow. Weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. A painting advertising the film Sar-Pige from the Guvashkino production studio, the artist is uncredited. A photographic still from the Sovkino release ‘Ekterina Izmailova’ on the back cover. This edition includes an original flyer from the ‘Leningrad Tobacco Trust’ advertising a range of cigarettes and listing the locations of their stores across Russia; including Moscow Kiev and Omsk. Articles inside include ‘A film-library is necessary’, ‘Soviet Operators in Turkey’ and a feature on ‘Metropolis’ a German film directed by Fritz Lang. Artwork inside includes: a drawing of Harold Lloyd by Deni; an illustrated cartoon by M. Getmansky entitled ‘Without Reliability’; a photographic still from ‘Sar-Pige. Good condition, page 11-12 with a portrait of a star cut out. 13 pages.
