The cover features a still from the film October: Ten Days That Shook the World (Oktyabr': Desyat' dney kotorye potryasli mir), a 1927 Soviet silent historical film by Sergei Eisenstein and Grigori Aleksandrov, produced by Sovkino. It is a celebratory dramatization of the 1917 October Revolution commissioned for the tenth anniversary of the event; the back cover features a still from the film Trial mobilization (Probnaja mobilizacija), director Alexander Levshin. The issue features a caricature of the artist Kutuzov by E Mordmilovich; article about the works of female film editors; the film Benya Krik, a 1926 Soviet silent film directed by Vladimir Vilner and starring Yuri Shumsky as Benya Krik, based on Isaak Babel's collection of short stories, The Odessa Tales; Mary Pickford in the film Little Annie Rooney, a 1925 American silent comedy-drama film directed by William Beaudine. Pickford, one of the most successful actresses of the silent era, was best known throughout her career for her iconic portrayals of penniless young girls.
