Cover and 8 pages from the original vintage Constructivist film magazine Soviet Screen Sovetsky Ekran #2 January 1927. It was a weekly magazine on recent developments in film in the USSR. The cover features a portrait of actress Varvara Annenkova in the film The Decembrists, a 1927 Soviet silent historical drama film directed by Aleksandr Ivanovsky, produced by Sovkino. The issue features caricature of Viktor Deni, a Russian satirist, cartoonist and poster artist. Deni was one of the major agitprop poster artists of the Bolshevist period; opium smokers in Turkmenistan with photographs by B Tseytlin; a fantastic story with illustrations by M. Getmansky; film Mykola Dzherya, a Ukrainian Soviet drama silent film shot by German cinematographer Joseph Rona and Ukrainian cinematographer Mark Tereshchenko at the Odesa Academy of Arts. The script is based on the novel of the same name by Ivan Nechuy-Levytsky; a film Sar-Pige, produced by Chuvashkino. Published by publishing house Teakinopechat, 8 pages. Poor condition, the cover is separated, pages are loose, 7 pages and back cover is absent, tears, browning.
